as measured by positive NYC School Survey responses, and DESSA responses resulting in

improved Physical & Mental Wellness.

ELA:

By June 2023 Elementary School ELA for all Students will increase 5% from 39 to 44, as measured by NYS ELA exam results.

Math:

By June 2023, Elementary/Middle School Math for All Students will Increase 6% from 34 to 40, as measured by NYS Math Exam Results. (Changed goal to 6% to bring our goal into the 40% range)

Math:

By June 2023, Elementary/Middle School Math for All Students will Increase 6% from 34 to 40, as measured by NYS Math Exam Results. (Changed goal to 6% to bring our goal into the 40% range)

 

 

 

Action Plan

§ AIS Math Program begins 3/29 – 30 minutes of time during the program will be spent on iReady -My Path work

§ One cluster teacher will work with students allowing them the recommended 35 minutes per week on the iReady platform which has shown to have a positive impact on student achievement

§ Weekly Math snapshot data being collected and analyzed

§ 1-1 Data Conversations with teachers began 3/10/2023

§ 1-1 Tiered Coaching is being scheduled for teachers and will begin the week of March 20th

§ Acadience math screener will be utilized to identify specific gaps for select students

 

ELA:

6. Funding Received From Councilwoman Schulman – (5 min)

· Grade 1 and Grade 2 students will participate in a gardening and urban farming education program called Learning Gardens. The program includes 7 sessions for each class: 4 in-school class sessions and 3 outdoor field trips to CPF Liberty Learning Garden located at 106-16 173rd Jamaica, NY 11433.

7. New York State Education Dept. School Designation (5 min)

· Based on 2021-22 data, the New York State Education Department (NYSED) has identified P.S. 054 Hillside School as a school designated for Local Support and Improvement (LSI) for the 2022-23 school year. The designation “Good Standing” has been changed to “Local Support and Improvement (LSI),” to recognize that all schools, even higher performing schools, are in a continuous improvement mode and can benefit from local support from their districts to meet students’ differentiated needs. LSI is the best accountability status currently available.
